How To Find Keywords

You may be wondering how to find keywords that will successfully attract traffic to your web pages. One successful technique is to find out what good keywords other people are using.

Here are ways you can find some of those good keywords.

Most websites will allow you to view the HTML source code, which is a treasure trove of information. All we are after right now, though, are the keywords, so this will be easy and painless.

1. Find a website that you are interested in.
2. Position your mouse over an area of text.
3. Right click the mouse.

The dropdown menu that appears should have an option to View Source. This will reveal the HTML code for the page, and you can find the keyword information there. But if the dropdown menu also shows View Page Info, you are in luck.

1. Choose View Page Info.
2. This will bring up a box that shows some critical information, if it is available.
3. Hover your mouse over the string of keywords to see them all. The first one is the primary keyword for that page.

If you do not have access to the View Page Info option:

1. Choose View Source.
2. All the HTML code will appear in a new window.
3. The keyword information should appear fairly close to the top of the page. You are looking for this text string: meta name=”keywords” content=
4. The words that appear after content are the keywords used on that page.
