Titles: Chapter Four “I Am Become Death”

In Mohinder’s lab he wakes up and clicks on his tape recorded notes as he appraises his wounded back. (We hear people yelling at each other in the background in another building.) He listens to himself talk about how great he feels. He clicks on the recorder to start talking about the adverse reactions when the yelling from next door gets louder. He goes to confront the husband who’s yelling at his wife and opens a can of whup-ass until she begs him to stop.

In Cali, Dr. Zimmerman is explaining to Tracy how she was one of three identical triplets- Tracy-Niki-BARBARA. When their birth parents died they were separated and treated as “test subjects.” Tracy wants to know what was done to her. DNA manipulation says Dr. Z, a formula that would “make you incredible.” He asks if it’s something like that. (He has a hokey Russian/German accent). She wants to know why, what gave them the right to do that to them? He said they had no right, they were arrogant, selfish, and human. She wants to know who. He thinks he’s said too much already. He says there was “a company” but they made them forget. She asks him to take away her ability, she never asked for it. He apologizes, says he can’t, that it’s part of her. She gets mad and grabs his arm and gives him a quick flash-freeze. Not enough to kill him. When he quick thaws, he apologizes again.

Synopsis:
Previously On: Sylar stole Claire’s powers of indestructability and made her numb; Daphne the speedster stole Hiro’s half of the world destroying formula; Parkman woke up in Africa with a Britney Spears fan; Nathan decided to accept an offer from Not Niki to become a senator; The Greatest American Hero was frozen by Not Niki who threatened to expose her as Actually Niki; Claire’s mom came back; HRG decided to go after the “villains” loosed from Level 5; Present Day Peter is trapped in the body of Francis Capra aka Jesse; and, finally, Sylar is Angela Petrelli’s son! (And Peter and Nathan’s brother and Claire’s uncle)

We pick up where we left off with Angela saying she is Sylar’s mum. Turns out she gave him up for adoption but promises to now take good care of him and creepily leans over and rubs his head and face. She tells him he needs to be strong for what’s to come. She calls in Bridget, a hot chick in a mini-dress suit. Her power is touching an object and knowing its history, everywhere it’s been. Sylar asks what she’s going to do. Mama P says, creepily, “feed you.” We see Mama P walk away as Bridget’s screams ring through the halls.

Mohinder voices over about the ongoing search for self as we see “Tracy Strauss,Washington, D.C.” on the screen. (That’s Not Niki’s new name, sorry I forgot) We watch as she freezes a rose with her finger.

Nathan is pacing in his new office, also, according to the screen, in Washington, D.C. Future Peter appears in Nathan’s office and Nathan plays him the voice message from Present Day Peter/Jesse explaining about his new body and the breakout at level 5.

We see Present Day Peter looking like himself to us (but Jesse in the passenger side mirror) roll up in a car. The Level 5 posse of bad dudes gets out. The screen tells us they are in Poughkeepsie, NY. They’re about to do some deed and PDP is scared, wishing they could do it at night when the place is empty. The guy who feeds off fear, feels it coming off PDP, who says he’s fine. It’s a bank. They rob it, using their powers for assistance. Telekinesis man shuts the blinds, fireball man scares people to the ground with his fireballs.

Synopsis:
Mrs. Bennet is cleaning up Sylar’s mess and tells Claire when she’s ready to talk that she’s here. Mrs. B. is worried. Claire assures her that Sylar’s not coming back, knowing he got what he came for. Mrs. B. wants to know, not in so many words, if Sylar raped her. Claire says no. As they’ve been talking Claire has accidentally put her hands in glass and is bleeding. She’s surprised that she doesn’t feel anything. Mrs. B says, that’s her power, right? Nope, says Claire. She heals but she always feels the pain and is glad she does since it’s the only time she knows she’s still human. The cut heals.

Mama Petrelli is having a vision of the future. Hiro, Parkman, Peter, Claire, and HRG are all dead or dying gruesome deaths. Niki, an unidentified black man, Sark, and Mr. Parkman are all lined up against her and Sylar grabs her from behind. In the back of a limo she awakens, grabbing her shoulder.

She arrives at Peter’s apartment saying she had another dream, and it’s all because he isn’t where he’s supposed to be, so he should go back where he came from. He says he’s too busy saving the world. She appraises his clotheslines of colored string and big map and says he was never as smart as he thought he was. He says there are things that he knows that she can’t. She tells him she gave him his powers and not to screw with time and explains about the Butterfly Effect. She says the effect that he’s having now with his changes could put people he cares about in danger — like say, Claire, who had a very bad day because he told her to stay put in California instead of going to Odessa to be with him and Nathan.

Maya walks into Mohinder’s lab. She finds him hanging from the ceiling like a bat. He falls, shirtless and sweaty, and lands neatly on his feet. She came to apologize for yelling at him the night before and wonders how he did what he just did. He tells her he injected himself and the results have been beyond his wildest dreams. He feels great, is excited, and has been monitoring all of the changes in his body. He says he’s completely the same in every biological way but now he can climb walls, which he does. He says if he can give powers to anyone, that it’s only a matter of time before he figures out how to reverse their effects. As he says this he’s all up in her grill, smelling her, running his hands over her face and hair. He says it all came from her and what’s inside her extraordinary body. They start to make out. He pulls off her shirt. Between kisses, she says, “you are different.”

Synopsis:
Peter is running down a rain-soaked street in, as the title card tells us : “Manhattan, New York, 4 years in the future.” He busts into a room where a brunette Claire is waiting. She trains a gun on him. He tells her not to shoot, that he can fix things. Peter, who has a big scar across his face, says he’s going to go back to “the day they all found out.” He argues life wouldn’t be the same if “they” (the whole world) never found out about the special powers they have. She said she made peace with it and that he never did. He wonders what happened to her. She says she’s different, remember? Special. He swears he can fix it, he begs her. She says she’s sorry, that she always loved him — and fires, point blank, at Peter’s face. As she does he slows time, avoids the bullet, grabs the gun, and gets away.

He flashes into “Present Day.” He grabs a cap and a coat as “Chapter 1: The Second Coming” fades onto the screen. He takes the gun and walks to the press conference where Nathan is about to announce to the world all about the heroes and their special powers and shoots him twice in the chest. He takes off with Present Day Peter and Parkman in pursuit. Before ducking into a bathroom, Peter stashes the gun in a utility closet. Peter and Parkman chase him into the bathroom. They “lose” him. Parkman wonders if Peter got a good look at him. Peter says no.
