This time I try to concentrate Learning XML, what is it for? well actually XML was designed to transport and store data, I didn’t realize about that, I thought XML was just silly thing and useless. XML is the third step on W3 Schools, I skip the Javascript, because I already know little bit about Javascript.

So what do I learn XML for? because XML was designed to transport and store data, I believe with XML I could build online affiliate web store that updates automatically.

My plan is to get product data feed from cj.com affiliate, and I will build a store just like my laptop store, at this time my Laptop store is build by free store amazon store builder, and I’m not satisfied with that. I wan’t to make my own affiliate store script to increase my income from internet.

This is the first day report for my progress for learning XML, before learning XML, you should know about the basics for HTML and Javascript.

What is XML..

  • XML stands for EXtensible Markup Language
  • XML is a markup language much like HTML
  • XML was designed to carry data, not to display data
  • XML tags are not predefined. You must define your own tags
  • XML is designed to be self-descriptive
  • XML is a W3C Recommendation

As you can see, on third point, XML is designed to carry data, not to display data, at this time I only use XML for sitemap, and now I realize that you could build great application with XML, but XML can’t stand alone, you should need another markup language to display the XML data. So I hope you can Imagine what if you could get the XML data feed product from affiliate store and then display it automatically on your website.

So if you want to learn more about XML you can try visiting W3 Schools for XML so we could share some ideas about it.
